LEARN and PRACTICE the WORD of GOD

Divine Healing from the Inner Wounds…

Humility

(Continuation from yesterday..)
2. Humility is a divine characteristic for the active people
“Do not let your adornment be merely outward…rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4.
God desires that Christians possess a gentle and quiet spirit. It is of the utmost importance inner man we are humble and still in our , so that we can hear God’s Spirit speaking to our hearts throughout the day.
However, possessing a gentle and quiet spirit does not mean that we should be passive people. God also requires action and zeal in our lives. Jesus tells us that the kingdom of heaven is taken by force. (Matthew 11:12) All those who want a deeper life with Christ realize that they need to be zealous, as well as humble, in their inner man. Sin cannot be allowed to reign in the heart of a disciple! If we are humble in our inner man, having a desire to do God’s will, then we will do whatever it takes to keep our hearts and minds pure. Paul writes that we are not to be “…lagging in diligence [zeal],” but rather “fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.” (Romans 12:11)
Likewise, while we should always have a quiet and meek spirit before the Lord, there are some situations where God wants us to be bold and speak up before others. Here, we need to forsake our own honor, reputation and natural expectations, as always, and obey the Lord with all reverence. We should not question our own authority or ability to say or do something that God wants to be accomplished through us. Instead, we should allow God to use us exactly as He pleases in every situation.
Humility comes with several features for the active believers
They’re Curious
Humble people seek knowledge because they are perpetual learners and realize that they don’t have all the answers. They obtain knowledge from the experiences of others and crave more opportunities to learn.
They Speak Their Minds
While active listening is certainly important, humble people aren’t afraid to speak their minds because being wrong is not a fear they have. They know that to bridge the gap between unwillingness and willingness there must be action; they summon the courage to face difficulty as they graciously accept to sacrifice themselves.
They Take Time To Say “Thank You”
Humble people take the time to express thanks to the service for tending to the little things.
They Have An Abundance Mentality
Humble people believe that they know there’s plenty of opportunity to go around and that finding it just necessitates collaboration and communication.
They Start Sentences With “You” Rather Than “I”
Humble people put others at the forefront of their thoughts. Humble people brag about others, while the prideful people brag about themselves.
Humble people Accept Feedback
Humble people are not only receptive to constructive criticism but actively seek it because they know that feedback is a pathway to improvement.
They Assume Responsibility
Rather than eschewing blame on “the system” or the behaviors of others, humble people assume responsibility by speaking up and owning their part.
They Ask For Help
Humble people acknowledge what they do and what they do not so and enlist help for the latter.
Humility suppresses anger
Humble people are slow to anger and always find a solution to the problems trying to cause them to be angry.
Humility gives space to others
Humble people gives time and space to other people to think and get the job done.
Humility opens many opportunities
Humble people always succeed in life and these true Christians will get promoted every time.
Humble people receives honors from others
Humble people are always productive in whatever they do and receives rewarding titles.
Humble people will have encounters with God
God loves the meek and humble in spirit and such Christians who have found favor in His eyes will find Jesus every time they seek Him.
Prayer: Abba Father, giver of every good and perfect gift, grant me the gift of humbleness so that we may be an example of true Christian believers. We ask that You use us as your instruments and help us to discern only the things that would help us draw more closer to You. Help us to have a heart like the Good Samaritan to help others using the resources, health, talents, gifts, etc. that You  have so generously showered upon us. Let us transmit all the light you poured upon us; but never claim anything selfishly what is your sole property. We ask this through the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
